Overview
The Deputy Fire Chief managing and directing all fire department operations to ensure the protection of life, property, and assets at King Abdullah Port. This role oversees daily emergency and non-emergency response activities, supervises and develops fire personnel, and ensures manpower readiness across operational shifts. The Deputy Fire Chief is responsible for implementing training programs, conducting fire safety awareness sessions, coordinating with stakeholders and government agencies, and supporting incident command during major emergencies. The position also contributes to departmental planning, budgeting, policy enforcement, fire risk assessments, evacuation drills, and inspection of suppression systems. Acting as second-in-command, the Deputy Fire Chief ensures operational excellence, compliance with regulations, and continuous improvement in fire and emergency services.
Accountabilities
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents
- Schedules, trains, supervises, coordinates, oversees, and evaluates the work of assigned employees
- Maintaining the manpower in operational shifts
- Plans for operational required training
- Functions on emergency overhead teams during major incidents
- Conduct Fire Safety Training for stakeholder e.g. PDC ,Huta ,Aecom, NCT, Government Agencies etc.
- Budget development and monitoring
- Preparation of reports e.g. Operational, Incident, Investigation etc.
- Formulation of work plans, programs, and long-range strategic planning e.g. KPI, SOP, Training etc.
- Enforcement of Department policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
- Makes recommendations on employment, retention, promotion, discipline, and other personnel actions
- Inspection of Fire suppression systems in all buildings
- Conduct evacuation drills for all buildings
Job Requirements Education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in fire science, fire administration, fire Engineering , or a related field.
Certificates and licenses
- A valid KSA driver's license and or International license
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification (CPR) and First Aid Certificate.
- Possession of Fire Officer Certification including NFPA 1001 fire fighter I & II and NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials.
- Certification of fire investigator.
Experience
- Ten(10) years of broad and extensive experience in all major phases of professional firefighting including Three(3) years of administrative and supervisory experience at industrial security facility a supervisory level of Battalion Chief and/or Fire Captain.
