Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat (with field visits to programme locations including other parts of Gujarat, Maharashtra, MP, Bihar
Education: Post Graduate in Social Work, Rural Development, Education, Management, or related field.
Experience: 3 to 6 years of experience in capacity-building, training, or programme support in the development sector. Knowledge of various participatory training methodologies and evaluation methods.
Desirable:
Experience in skill development or livelihood promotion programs preferred.
Preferred Attributes:
Strong understanding of adult learning principles, capacity building methodologies, and instructional design
Experience in project/programme training in agriculture, gender, social mobilization, or development sectors
Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills
Excellent organizational, planning, and documentation skills
Analytical skills to assess training impact and programme effectiveness
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and geographies
Willingness to travel to cluster offices and project locations as required

Position Summary:
The Deputy Manager – Capacity Building will support the design, planning, and implementation of capacity-building initiatives across projects and programmes. The role focuses on enhancing the skills, knowledge, and performance of internal teams, field staff, and partner organisations. This position is critical for ensuring that projects meet their objectives through well-structured learning interventions and knowledge management.
The role involves close collaboration with the Senior Manager – Capacity Building, project leads, and other internal stakeholders to design training, mentoring, and development programs tailored to projects/programmes and field requirements.
Key responsibilities:
1. Training & Capacity Building
Design, manage, and coordinate training programmes for the organization.
Conduct Training Needs Assessments (TNA) for relevant stakeholders, including staff, field teams, and partners.
Develop the training capacities of project/programme team members.
Design and implement a comprehensive training strategy for internal staff and external stakeholders with clearly defined learning outcomes.
Coordinate with project leaders to prepare a yearly calendar for mandatory and staff development training.
Support trainers in delivering training modules effectively.
Create interactive training modules on gender, agriculture, social mobilization, PRA, and other thematic areas relevant to AKRSP(I).
Ensure timely availability of training materials and resources.
Monitor and evaluate the quality and impact of capacity building programmes.
Maintain a database and documentation of capacity building themes and interventions across the organization.
Document best practices and lessons learned for internal and external dissemination.
2. Planning, Reporting & Documentation
Assist in budget management for capacity building initiatives and ensure timely reporting.
Prepare quarterly and annual plans for training and staff development, ensuring effective implementation.
Conduct periodic impact assessments and review project interventions to enhance training effectiveness.
Document project interventions and capture lessons learned to inform future capacity-building efforts.
3. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with HR, project teams, state teams, and functional leads to integrate capacity-building interventions into programme workflows.
Collaborate with external trainers, consultants, and partner organizations as required.
Serve as a resource for capacity building guidance across projects and programmes.
