Roles Responsibilities
1. Trend Research Ideation
- Conduct in-depth seasonal research using WGSN, competitor analysis, runway references, and global market trends.
- Lead ideation of categories across silhouettes, prints, trims, and fabric direction.
- Develop mood boards, color palettes, design stories, and range concepts aligned with the brand identity.
2. Design Product Development
- Create detailed tech packs, specs, CADs, and artwork files for production handover.
- Innovate with shapes, trims, graphics, and fabric detailing suitable for Girlswear.
- Ensure all developments meet brand aesthetic and commercial standards.
3. Sample Management Approvals
- Oversee fit sessions, construction details, and quality elements during sample development.
- Manage PP (Pre-Production) approvals ensuring accuracy in trims, construction, and finishing.
- Troubleshoot issues during development and coordinate with relevant teams for timely resolution.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Merchandising, Sourcing, and Production teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Share timely feedback to ensure product accuracy and adherence to design briefs.
5. Documentation Design Process
- Maintain an organized archive of CADs, tech packs, artwork files, and reference documents.
- Ensure complete digital documentation of all design developments.
6. People Project Management
- May mentor junior designers or interns on project execution and alignment with brand language.
- Adhere strictly to collection timelines, design calendars, and brand guidelines.
Skills Requirements
- 7–8 years of experience in Girlswear or Kidswear design (Mandatory).
- A 4-year Degree in Fashion Design/Knitwear Design from a recognized institute.
- Strong knowledge of fits, construction, trims, fabrics, and embellishments.
- Proven portfolio showcasing trend-driven and commercially successful Girlswear designs.
- Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD creation, and tech pack development.
- Ability to balance creativity with business needs.
