Overview
The Deputy Project Manager supports the Project Manager in planning, executing, and delivering projects on time and within scope and budget. This role acts as a key point of coordination across teams, helping manage day-to-day project operations, tracking progress, and ensuring that project objectives are met. The Deputy PM may also assume full responsibility for the project when the Project Manager is unavailable.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination

Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and resource allocations

Coordinate project activities and ensure tasks are completed according to timelines

Monitor project milestones and flag delays or risks early

Help maintain project documentation, including roadmaps, briefs, and reports
Execution & Delivery

Support cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution

Track deliverables and quality-check outputs before submission
-
Facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, and document action items

Ensure all team members understand their roles and responsibilities
Risk, Issue & Change Management

Identify and assess project risks, dependencies, and blockers
-
Recommend mitigation strategies and escalate issues when needed

Assist in managing scope changes and updating project plans accordingly
Stakeholder Communication

Serve as a secondary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders

Provide regular status updates and progress reports

Ensure effective communication flow across teams
Budget & Resource Support

Help monitor project budgets and expenditures

Assist in tracking resource utilization and capacity planning
Leadership & Team Support

Support the Project Manager in guiding team members and maintaining productivity

Foster collaboration and help resolve team conflicts

Step in for the Project Manager as necessary
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, management, engineering, or related field

4-6 years of project coordination or project management experience
-
Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
-
Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello, MS Project)
Preferred Skills

Project Management certification (CAPM, PMP, or equivalent)

Experience with cross-functional or technical teams
-
Ability to analyze data and generate insights
