Deputy Project Manager (Marine / Coastal Projects)

Job Description

The Deputy Project Manager will support the delivery of marine and coastal projects (e.g., ports, marinas, waterfront developments) by assisting in managing multiple project packages, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

The role requires strong involvement in marine construction activities, planning, reporting, and coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting management of multiple projects or project packages
  • Assisting in project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking
  • Supporting budget monitoring and cost control
  • Contributing to risk identification and mitigation strategies
  • Coordinating with stakeholders (clients, consultants, contractors, authorities)
  • Supporting marine/environmental approvals and authority coordination
  • Assisting in preparation of project reports (progress, risks, updates)
  • Supporting execution of marine construction activities (e.g., piling, dredging, quay walls)
  • Ensuring compliance with marine regulations and environmental constraints


Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Marine / Coastal preferred) – Mandatory
  • Master’s degree in Project Management or relevant field – Preferred
  • Equivalent marine/coastal project experience may substitute postgraduate studies

Experience Requirements

  • 10–12+ years of total experience (required)

Core Competencies / Functional Requirements

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Experience supporting multiple projects or packages
  • Experience in PMC / Consultant role (client-side support)
  • Direct experience in marine/coastal projects (ports, marinas, waterfronts)
  • Practical exposure to marine construction methods (piling, dredging, quay walls)
  • Strong stakeholder coordination skills
  • Experience in planning, scheduling, and progress tracking
  • Exposure to budget tracking and cost control
  • Contribution to risk management processes
  • Reporting and documentation experience
  • Experience coordinating with authorities and handling approvals
