We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support clinical operations across various specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics, and emergency medicine settings. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth clinic workflows, accurate documentation, and compassionate patient interactions. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake procedures to ensure a seamless check-in process
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision and professionalism
  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and assisting with basic medical tasks in accordance with clinical protocols
  • Support physicians and nurses by administering medications, providing wound care, or assisting with minor procedures within scope of practice
  • Operate EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems to document patient encounters accurately, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging such as X-ray or other radiology services when required in outpatient or inpatient settings
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards and safety regulations

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical-surgical practices
  • Experience working in medicine
  • Proficiency in utilizing EHR systems for documentation and billing purposes; familiarity with ICD coding is essential
  • Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification and medication administration accurately in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including inpatient, outpatient, geriatric patients, and those requiring urgent or emergency care
  • Knowledge of hospital protocols related to intake procedures, vital signs monitoring, X-ray operations, and emergency response procedures
  • Prior experience supporting medical teams in high-pressure environments such as trauma centers or urgent care clinics is highly desirable
