Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: from $45,500 a year, depending on experience

About Us

We are a busy, growing dermatology practice seeking an experienced, dependable, and team-oriented Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of responsibilities, staying organized, and helping ensure patients receive timely care.

The ideal candidate will have dermatology experience and possess excellent communication skills, professionalism, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. We are looking for someone who works well with both patients and coworkers and is committed to contributing to a supportive and respectful workplace culture.

ResponsibilitiesClinical Medical Assistant Duties

  • Room patients and prepare them for examination and procedures.
  • Obtain and document patient histories.
  • Assist the provider with dermatologic procedures and treatments.
  • Prepare examination and procedure rooms.
  • Perform clinical documentation and EMR tasks as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.

Clinical Coordination Duties

  • Submit and track prior authorizations for medications and procedures.
  • Coordinate biologic medications and specialty pharmacy communications.
  • Manage iPLEDGE enrollment and compliance requirements.
  • Track laboratory orders and ensure results are received and documented in patient charts.
  • Contact patients regarding required laboratory work, follow-up appointments, and treatment updates.
  • Follow up on outstanding paperwork, insurance requests, and patient assistance programs.
  • Coordinate with pharmacies, laboratories, insurance companies, and outside healthcare providers as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.

Qualifications Required

  • Dermatology experience.
  • Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining a collaborative team member.
  • Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented work ethic.

Preferred

  • Experience with prior authorizations.
  • Experience with biologic medications.
  • Experience with iPLEDGE.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Experience Required: Dermatology experience is required. Applicants without dermatology experience will not be considered.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
