Petit Dermatology – Medical Assistant / Clinical Scribe (Full-Time)
Supporting Dr. Kristin Petit (starting July 2026)
Petit Dermatology is a growing dermatology practice committed to excellent patient care and a supportive, team-oriented culture. We are looking for a highly motivated and reliable Medical Assistant / Clinical Scribe to work directly with Dr. Kristin Petit as she launches her practice within our office.
This role is ideal for someone who is organized, clinically skilled, adaptable, and eager to become a physician’s trusted right-hand support.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities, works well independently, and takes pride in being a dependable member of a small team.
Position Summary
This is a dual-role position combining medical assisting with clinical scribing. You will assist with patient flow, procedures, documentation, and communication throughout the day, ensuring that visits run smoothly and efficiently.
Training will begin in advance of Dr. Kristin Petit’s start date, allowing you to learn clinic flow, dermatology basics, charting expectations, and EMR workflows.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant experience preferred, but not required
- Dermatology, plastic surgery, or ophthalmology experience is a plus
- Experience scribing or comfort typing quickly during patient encounters
- Familiarity with EMRs (Athena experience is a plus, but not required)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
- Comfortable assisting with surgical procedures
No dermatology experience required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates reliability, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Room patients and prepare them for their visit
- Assist with skin exams, biopsies, excisions, laser treatments, and other dermatologic procedures
- Set up and break down procedure rooms
- Process specimens and ensure proper labeling/documentation
- Provide wound care instructions and support patient education
Scribing & Documentation
- Enter accurate and detailed visit notes into the EMR during patient encounters
- Document histories, physical exam findings, assessments, and treatment plans as directed
- Assist with orders, Rx messages, and pathology follow-up
- Maintain efficient, organized charting to support physician workflow
Administrative Support
- Manage tasks in the EMR (Athena experience a plus)
- Assist with prior authorizations and referrals
- Support communication between front desk and clinical staff
- Contribute to a smooth, patient-centered daily flow
Compensation
- Starting pay: $20.50 per hour
