Dermatology Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy

Duties & Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Assist dermatologists or Surgeon with comprehensive patient examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Documentation: Utilize EMR systems (EMA/ModMed) to scribe detailed visit notes and manage electronic prescriptions accurately.
• Patient Intake: Record medical histories and vital signs; provide compassionate pre- and post-operative instructions.
• Phlebotomy: Perform blood draws and handle lab specimens with precision.
• Office Operations: Maintain sterile, organized examination rooms and ensure all medical equipment is properly sanitized and ready for use.
• Compliance: Utilize medical coding systems for documentation and apply Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Certification: Medical Assistant (MA) Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical setting (Dermatology specialty strongly preferred).
• Phlebotomy: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Certified Phlebotomist.
• Technical Proficiency: 2+ years of experience with EMR systems; specific expertise in EMA/Modernizing Medicine (ModMed) and electronic prescribing is highly preferred.
• Administrative Skills: Familiarity with medical coding systems and professional scribing; solid understanding of basic physiology.
• Health & Safety: COVID-19 vaccination and boosters are required for employment at this facility.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
