Position Overview

Cleaver Dermatology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide dermatologic care at our Trenton satellite clinic in collaboration with Cleaver Dermatology physicians.

This position will involve caring for patients with a variety of dermatologic conditions in a supportive, team-based environment. The ideal candidate is clinically thoughtful, patient-centered, comfortable working in a satellite clinic setting, and interested in serving patients in Trenton and the surrounding North-Central Missouri communities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated NP or PA who enjoys dermatology, values collaboration with physicians, and wants to be part of a growing practice that serves both established and new patient needs in a rural community setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide dermatology care for patients with a variety of medical dermatologic conditions.
• Perform patient evaluations, assess treatment response, provide education, and help develop care plans in collaboration with Cleaver Dermatology physicians.
• Monitor patients receiving dermatologic medical therapies, including appropriate review of labs, medication tolerance, response to treatment, and follow-up needs.
• Identify lesions or clinical concerns that may require additional evaluation, biopsy, treatment, or physician involvement.
• Perform appropriate office-based dermatologic procedures within training, experience, and scope of practice.
• Educate patients on dermatologic diagnoses, treatment plans, medication use, sun protection, and skin health.
• Coordinate care with Cleaver Dermatology physicians, nursing staff, billing staff, and practice management to support high-quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
• Help support continuity of care between the Trenton satellite clinic and other Cleaver Dermatology locations.
• Participate in a collaborative clinical environment that emphasizes quality care, appropriate communication, and patient access.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current, unrestricted Missouri license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, or eligibility to obtain Missouri licensure.
• Active DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Dermatology experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and willingness to collaborate closely with physicians.
• Ability to recognize when a patient’s condition requires physician involvement or escalation of care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient-centered approach to clinical care.
• Interest in serving patients in Trenton and the surrounding rural communities.
• Experience with dermatology-specific electronic health records is helpful but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of dermatology experience.
• Prior experience caring for patients with common and chronic dermatologic conditions.
• Comfort with common dermatology office procedures.
• Board certification as an NP or PA, as applicable.
• Dermatology certification, if applicable, is preferred but not required.
