A dermatologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases of the skin, hair, nails, and scalp.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Examine patients to diagnose skin, hair, and nail conditions
• Treat conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, infections, and allergies
• Perform skin cancer screenings and monitor moles or growths
• Prescribe medications (creams, ointments, pills)
• Perform minor medical procedures (biopsies, removal of warts or moles)
• Give advice on skincare, sun protection, and disease prevention
• Keep accurate patient records
• Refer patients to other specialists if needed
