AW Interiors is seeking a motivated and talented Design Assistant / Junior Designer to support the Principal Designer across all phases of residential and commercial projects. This is a career-track position designed for a designer who is prepared to contribute immediately and who aspires to advance into independent client work and, ultimately, a Lead Designer role as the firm continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Principal Designer in client consultations, design presentations, and project execution across residential and commercial engagements
- Contribute to active commercial projects, including boutique hotel design, day spa finish-outs, and restaurant and brewery interiors
- Develop design concepts, presentation boards, finish selections, and space plans
- Source and specify furniture, fixtures, finishes, lighting, textiles, and accessories
- Prepare CAD drawings, three-dimensional renderings, and elevations
- Manage product orders, monitor shipments, and coordinate deliveries and installations
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, budgets, and schedules within firm-standard project management software
- Coordinate with builders, trade partners, vendors, and showroom representatives
- Assist with showroom presentation, including merchandising, vendor displays, and overall client readiness
- Progress to managing select design appointments independently and developing a personal client portfolio
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or equivalent professional residential design experience
- Working proficiency preferred in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Studio Designer or Ivy
- Demonstrated aesthetic sensibility for high-end residential design, including a strong command of color, scale, materiality, and current industry direction
- Interest in expanding professional capabilities into commercial and hospitality design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a polished, client-facing presence
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects without compromising attention to detail
- Self-directed work ethic with clear motivation to grow into an independent designer role
- Reliable transportation for site visits, vendor appointments, and installations
- Portfolio required at time of application
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience within a residential design firm or design-build environment
- Exposure to commercial, hospitality, or restaurant design
- Established professional relationships with Dallas–Fort Worth trade vendors and showrooms
- Experience collaborating with custom home builders
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
