ABOUT THE ROLE

The Design Consultant provides exceptional client service and supports suggestive sales within the showroom. This role assists design professionals and clients with product selection, trim applications, and order processing, while contributing to the showroom’s daily operations, organization, and presentation.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide consultative design guidance, including recommendations on pattern, color, and creative trim applications to inspire clients.
  • Generate and process reserves, quotes, and orders while ensuring accuracy and timely client follow-up.
  • Manage the full order lifecycle in partnership with internal support teams to resolve issues and maintain high client satisfaction.
  • Fulfill daily sample requests (in-showroom and web) and request inventory as needed.
  • Conduct stock checks for flagship showrooms and coordinate daily order shipments and transfers to support operational and territory needs.
  • Coordinate special product requests and client-specific assignments.
  • Conduct client outreach to build relationships, increase brand awareness, and drive sales growth.
  • Execute sales strategies using cross-selling techniques, client outreach, and reporting to achieve revenue goals.
  • Maintain showroom organization, displays, and product presentation standards.
  • Stay current on industry trends, territory accounts, and new products while supporting outside sales initiatives and maintaining exceptional client service.
  • All other duties as assigned by Senior Management

Requirements:

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR


Education & Experience

Required

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2–4 years of experience in sales, customer service, showroom, design, or another client-facing role.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and support sales processes.

Preferred

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, Design, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience in the interior design, home furnishings, or showroom industry.
  • Familiarity with luxury or design-driven sales environments.


Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using CRM systems, order management platforms, and inventory tracking systems.
  • Ability to manage web-based sample request platforms and digital order processing tools.


Soft Skills

  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and client-service orientation.
  • Collaborative team player able to work across departments and territories.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-through abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and concurrent projects.

Salary:

$62K - $65K


Samuel & Sons, in good faith, believes that this posted range of compensation is the accurate range for this role at this location at the time of this posting. Samuel & Sons may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate qualifications. This range may be modified in the future
