DESIGN CONSULTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION
Design Consultant position entails meeting with new home buyers offering design guidance, support and product knowledge as they make selections to customize the interiors of their new home. Set proper expectations with home buyers regarding the selection process. Provide a superior level of customer service from start to finish with each customer, by maintaining a positive working relationship throughout the process. Maintain positive working relationship in all facets of our builder customer relationship. Meet with vendor partners as needed to ensure studio product assortment stays relevant. .
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
- Responsible for successfully completing buyer appointments, follow up and follow through to buyer signoff of selections
- Be knowledgeable about the design selection process, various product categories, many price points, material styles, disclaimers and paperwork processes
- Create drawings/sketches of required installation methods and drawings for flooring or vertical applications.
- Use Sketchup design software to complete drawings and layouts when applicable
- Ability to curate cohesive color palettes, styles, and design layouts
- Follow current design trends to stay on top of the latest styles and colors for home interiors
- Provide professional and courteous customer service through emails, phone and in person meetings at all times
- Assisting buyers with making selections to customize their home within their budget, color schemes and/or design styles
- Increase sales through knowledge, education, selling techniques and option upgrades
- Collaborate with Builder and/or sales agents when necessary to confirm features, options and final buyer paperwork submittals
- Attend builder meetings with sales team when needed to kick off new communities to align expectations
- Meet with company team members regarding processes and procedures when needed
- Provide design support for company, builder and installation requirements when needed
- Meet with vendors to select new product offerings to keep studio relevant assortment
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Graduate Required
- Interior Design education Preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience completing design appointments for the new construction residential home building industry Required
- Strong customer-service orientation
- Great listening skills and creative problem solving ability
- High level of enthusiasm, integrity and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power point, excel and Adobe Acrobat DC (editing software), Sketchup
- Be coachable, patient and have positive attitude
- Ability to deal with conflict & promote issue resolution
- Ability to complete appointments ranging from 1 to 5 hours, during normal business hours Monday through Friday by appointment only
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
