Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and design-oriented Designer / Remodeling Consultant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with homeowners, helping clients visualize their remodeling projects, guiding design decisions, and supporting projects from consultation through successful completion.

This is a performance-based independent contractor (1099) opportunity with strong earning potential through design fees and project-based commissions tied to project profitability and successful execution.

This role is not a traditional estimator or high-pressure sales position. Instead, the primary focus is:

• customer consultation,
• design development,
• material and finish selection,
• project visualization,
• and helping guide profitable remodeling projects through completion.

Important: This role does not require any cold calling or lead generation. All leads are company-provided, so you can focus exclusively on estimating, presenting proposals, and closing sales.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home and virtual homeowner consultations
• Assist clients with layout ideas, space planning, and remodeling vision
• Guide homeowners through material, fixture, and finish selections
• Support scope development and proposal coordination
• Collaborate with project management and production teams throughout project execution
• Help maintain strong customer communication and customer experience throughout the remodeling process
• Participate in field measurements and project site visits as needed
• Maintain organized project documentation and CRM updates

Qualifications

• Experience in interior design, kitchen and bath design, remodeling, residential construction, or related fields
• Strong communication and customer relationship skills
• Ability to confidently guide homeowners through design and remodeling decisions
• Understanding of residential remodeling processes and finish selections
• Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently
• Reliable transportation for consultations and project visits throughout Northern Virginia

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
