Design Consultant (Temporary Position – June through November)

Tresidio Homes is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Temporary Design Consultant to join our team from June through November. In this role, you will guide homebuyers through the exciting process of personalizing their new home while delivering the unmatched personalization and exceptional homebuying experience that defines the Tresidio mission.

Job Summary:

The Design Consultant serves as a trusted advisor throughout the selections process, helping buyers confidently make design decisions that reflect their lifestyle, vision, and budget. This position requires strong communication, organization, creativity, and customer service skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and guide buyers through the home selections process from initial introduction through final sign-off.
  • Schedule and conduct Design Studio Preview meetings and Design Appointments while setting clear expectations for timelines and processes.
  • Deliver an elevated, personalized customer experience that reflects Tresidio’s commitment to exceptional service and attention to detail.
  • Assist buyers in selecting finishes, colors, layouts, and design options that align with their vision and home plan.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain all required design and selections documentation, including: Exterior Paint Diagrams; Interior Paint Diagrams; Cabinet Layouts; Shelving Layouts; Tile Layouts; Landscape Plans; Selection Photos
  • Utilize PlanSwift takeoffs to obtain quantities prior to and during design meetings.
  • Accurately document buyer selections, options, layouts, and specifications within Envision and obtain all required approvals and signatures.
  • Coordinate buyer special requests with Purchasing and internal teams to ensure timely communication and resolution.
  • Submit completed and approved selections documents by established deadlines.
  • Prepare completed buyer binders for Purchasing integration and save all required files for drafting and construction teams.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to schedule Pre-Construction Meetings following final selections.
  • Manage and process Late Change Requests prior to Pre-Construction Meetings and assist Project Managers with post-meeting changes as needed.
  • Complete design selections for assigned spec homes while maintaining budget requirements.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and professional presentation of the Design Studio and all sample materials.
  • Meet with spec buyers as needed to review home selections in person.

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with buyers, vendors, purchasing, drafting, and construction teams
  • Design, construction, or homebuilding experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/design software systems preferred

  • Compensation based on experience
