About Us

Position Overview

We are seeking a Design & Customer Experience Coordinator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a background (or strong interest) in interior design who enjoys working directly with customers to bring custom furniture projects to life.

This position blends design, customer communication, and project coordination, as you'll help our customers take their ideas from inspiration to completion! The ideal candidate is comfortable translating customer ideas into clear, buildable concepts and supporting the process from initial inquiry through delivery.

You will work closely under the direct supervision of our principal designer to ensure your designs aren't just beautiful, but that they're buildable. You'll collaborate with our production team, and quickly learn the ins-and-outs of custom furniture design and building.

Part-time to full-time hours are available depending on candidate availability and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers to develop custom furniture designs based on their needs, space, and style
  • Create detailed CAD drawings using SketchUp to support production of custom pieces
  • Handle customer communications via phone, email, and chat in a professional and timely manner
  • Use Zoho CRM to log interactions, create orders, and send invoices
  • Coordinate freight and delivery logistics by working with customers and freight brokers to ensure smooth, end-to-end delivery
  • Support internal coordination between design and production teams

Bonus Opportunities (not required)

  • If you're willing to get your hands dirty, assist part-time in the shop to better understand materials and construction methods
  • Capture photo and video content of projects and help support social media efforts

Qualifications

  • Background (education or workplace training) in interior design or experience working in the interior design industry
  • Proficiency (or willingness to learn) SketchUp or similar CAD/design software
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset
  • Professional, positive, and team-oriented

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience with custom furniture or millwork design
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Zoho experience a plus)
  • Interest in woodworking or furniture construction
  • Basic photography or content creation skills

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work closely on custom furniture projects from concept to completion
  • Exposure to both design and production sides of the business
  • A collaborative, small-team environment
  • Flexible scheduling options depending on role needs
  • Opportunities for growth based on performance and initiative
  • Ability to complement a current interior design practice
