Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Design Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in the Tools & Dies manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate must be proficient in Autodesk Inventor and well-versed in design parameters, assembly design, and reverse engineering. A strong understanding of GD&T .
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures using Autodesk Inventor and related CAD tools.
- Interpret and apply design parameters for functional, cost-effective, and manufacturable products.
- Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and assembly layouts as per project requirements.
- Conduct reverse engineering and drawing transformation of legacy components and assemblies.
- Work closely with customers to gather design inputs and perform on-site data collection, if required.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and purchasing teams for design validation and feasibility.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles for precise component detailing.
- Support the design change process, documentation, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, company procedures, and safety regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Tool Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in design of tools & dies in a manufacturing setup.
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and associated CAD software.
- Sound understanding of mechanical design principles, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in reverse engineering, 3D scanning interpretation, and drawing conversion.
- Hands-on knowledge of GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings per ISO/ASME standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of other CAD tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA (optional).
- Experience with PLM systems and revision control.
- Exposure to FMEA, DFM/DFA, or CAE tools is an added advantage.
