Job Title: Design Engineer Location: 1221 W colonial Dr Suite 202, Orlando, FL 32804 (Full-time, in-office position; candidates must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the Orlando area)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Design Engineer with Geotechnical, Civil , Structural, or a professional with a combination of these expertise areas to join our Orlando office. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in engineering design, analysis, and project execution, with the ability to independently review and approve technical drawings. This role requires stamping engineering documents, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and collaborating on multidisciplinary projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform geotechnical investigations, soil analysis, foundation design, and site assessments (for geotechnical focus).
  • Design and analyze civil infrastructure such as roadways, drainage systems, and utilities (for civil focus).
  • Develop structural designs for buildings, bridges, and other load-bearing systems, including seismic and wind load considerations (for structural focus).
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations.
  • Stamp and seal final engineering documents in accordance with Florida regulations.
  • Collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance and success.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and quality control as needed.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of professional engineering experience in geotechnical, civil, structural, or combined disciplines.
  • Licensure: Must hold a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or be eligible to obtain one through reciprocity or examination, as this is required to stamp and seal engineering drawings. (Note: In Florida, only licensed PEs can sign, date, and seal final engineering documents for public record.)
  • Location: Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Orlando, FL area; this is a fully in-office role with no remote options.

To attract top-tier candidates, we recommend highlighting the following additional schooling or certifications, which demonstrate advanced expertise and commitment to the field:

  • Advanced coursework or specialization in areas like soil mechanics, foundation engineering, or earthquake engineering (for geotechnical roles).
  • Certifications such as:
  • Diplomate in Geotechnical Engineering (D.GE) from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), ideal for geotechnical specialists with advanced knowledge.
  • Structural Engineer (SE) certification, particularly useful for structural-focused roles involving complex designs.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) for those handling project leadership.
  • Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) for sustainable infrastructure expertise.
  • Other relevant ASCE board certifications in civil engineering specialties.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification as a foundational step (though PE is required).
  • Experience with software tools like Mathcad, Deep excavation, Shoring suite, Autocad , Risa, Bluebeam, CT shoring and DeepEx.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
