Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Development

• Prepare conceptual and detailed designs for hot tapping fittings, line stopple fittings, and associated piping components.
• Develop new designs and modify existing ones based on operational, maintenance, or project requirements.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, IBR, etc.).
• Perform strength, pressure, and stress calculations to validate design integrity.
• Select appropriate materials based on design requirements, operating conditions, and client specifications.

2. Cross-Department Coordination

• Collaborate with the production team to provide fabrication drawings, cutting templates, and manufacturing details.
• Support project, planning, and estimation teams with conceptual layouts, preliminary designs, and cost estimates for proposals/tenders.
• Provide on-floor technical support during fabrication and assembly.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to understand operational challenges and develop design improvements.

3. Drawing & Documentation

• Create and maintain 2D/3D CAD models using AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
• Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and ensure correct specifications are shared with procurement.
• Maintain organized records of design data, drawings, calculations, and revision histories.

4. Continuous Improvement & R&D

• Research new materials, design methodologies, and fabrication techniques to enhance product performance.
• Benchmark designs against industry best practices to drive innovation and efficiency.

5. Fabrication & Inspection Support

• Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, and inspection stages.
• Troubleshoot design-related issues during manufacturing or at project sites.
• Participate in design reviews with internal teams, clients, and third-party inspection agencies (TPIA).
• Attend site visits for measurements, fit-up checks, and installation supervision.

6. Compliance & Quality

• Ensure all designs meet relevant safety, quality, and performance standards.
• Adhere to company design procedures, document-control systems, and quality management protocols.

7. Additional Responsibilities

• Conduct research and benchmarking for design improvements.
• Stay updated on industry standards, tools, and technologies.
• Contribute to standardizing templates, procedures, and design guidelines.
• Perform additional engineering tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 3–7 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in piping components, pressure vessels, or the hot tapping industry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
