ENTRY LEVEL DESIGN ENGINEERING POSITION

Agricultural equipment manufacturer based in the Oregon Willamette Valley seeks engineering applicants to meet the challenges of growing, developing markets.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Design components and assemblies for agricultural sprayers and mowers.
  • Create detail, fabrication, and assembly drawings using Inventor.
  • Document production processes.
  • Update fabrication drawings to reflect current practices.
  • Generate Bills of Materials.
  • Work with vendors to improve integration of new technologies. Perform cost and compatibility studies for proposed component options.
  • Oversee adoption of new product designs & fabrication processes, collaborating with the production team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering with an Agricultural, Mechanical, or Industrial focus.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD systems: Autocad and Inventor experience beneficial.
  • Industrial manufacturing experience: welding, fabricating and machining experience beneficial.
  • Knowledge of agricultural power systems: cardan joint; belt, gear, chain drives.
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and interfaces.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic system design and tractor connections.

BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCE, NOT REQUIRED

  • Familiarity with manufacturing ERP system.
  • Familiarity with agricultural practices and equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Prospective applicants must be comfortable on the shop floor of a manufacturing facility. Data collection will involve taking measurements on assembled machinery and require the physical ability to lift, crawl and climb to access parts and assemblies. Troubleshooting power systems will require working with oils and lubricants.

WORK SCHEDULE AND WAGE

Schedule: 8 hour shifts, M-F. Shift start time 6AM or 8AM. Shift assignment is most often employee choice. Overtime is often needed during the months of February – May.

Starting wage: This position is open to experienced and entry level engineers. Wage will be determined by experience.
