Design Engineer (HVAC)

Role Purpose

Design and prepare working drawings for HVAC systems in commercial and light industrial buildings.

Objectives

• Deliver designs within budgeted hours and productivity norms.
• Ensure compliance with contract documents and coordination with other services.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate HVAC working drawings per project standards.
• Coordinate with civil, architectural, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting layouts.
• Resolve technical issues with site teams.
• Maintain ISO documentation and drawing logs.
• Support quantity take-offs and drawing approvals.
• Monitor productivity and assist in QA/QC processes.
• Identify additional work and inform the Project Manager.

Key Skills

• Strong HVAC design knowledge (chillers, AHUs, VAVs, FCUs, ventilation, smoke control).
• Familiarity with GCC codes and Civil Defence requirements.
• Proficient in HVAC calculations and software (e.g., HAP).
• Knowledge of Revit, Navisworks is a plus.
• Good communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
• Understanding of related MEP systems.

Education

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• HVAC training certification preferred.
