Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Create detailed 2D/3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Analysis & Simulation: Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to validate designs for stress, thermal, and fluid performance.
- Prototyping: Oversee the fabrication and testing of prototypes to verify functionality and safety before mass production.
- Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure designs are cost-effective and manufacturable (DFM/DFA).
- Documentation: Maintain technical reports, Bills of Materials (BOM), and design specifications.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement design improvements based on test results or field feedback.
Required Skills
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or CATIA) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, and kinematics.
- Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, complex problem-solving, and effective cross-functional communication.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience: Typically 2–5 years in a mechanical design role, though requirements vary by industry (e.g., aerospace, automotive, or robotics).
