Job Summary
The Design, Tender & Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing techno-commercial proposals, system design, quantity estimation, and cost analysis for fire protection projects. The role involves studying tender documents, preparing BOQs, coordinating with OEMs and vendors, and supporting the business development team in submitting competitive and technically compliant proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Tender & Proposal Management
- Review and analyze tender documents, specifications, drawings, and scope of work for fire protection systems.
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals for fire fighting projects.
- Identify technical deviations and clarifications during tender review.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams during the tender stage.
- Ensure timely submission of tenders in compliance with client requirements.
Design & Engineering
- Prepare preliminary design and system layouts for:
- Fire Hydrant Systems
- Fire Sprinkler Systems
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Deluge Systems
- Foam Systems
- Gas Suppression Systems
- MVWS / HVWS Systems
- Prepare GA drawings, schematic diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards such as NFPA, NBC, TAC, and local fire regulations.
Estimation & Costing
- Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for fire protection systems.
- Conduct material take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Obtain quotations from vendors and OEMs.
- Prepare cost estimates and project budgets.
- Support management with pricing strategies for tender submissions.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain tender documentation and records.
- Prepare technical submittals and compliance statements.
- Support project teams with design clarifications during execution stage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Fire & Safety Engineering / Relevant Engineering Discipline
Experience
- Fresher OR 1 – 2 years of experience in design, tendering, or estimation of fire protection systems.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of fire fighting system design and codes (NFPA, NBC, TAC)
- Experience in AutoCAD
- Strong skills in BOQ preparation and cost estimation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PPT, and technical documentation
