Design-focused Salesperson

Sweet Modern is a nationally respected, vintage furniture store and restoration shop located in downtown Akron. We are looking fill a sales and customer experience position that also helps customers make furniture and decor choices for their homes. Our pieces are high-ticket specialty items that have unique customization options, so this position is best suited for those that are creative, thoughtful, engaging, and attentive with customers.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Handle sales and transactions in the showroom, warehouse, and online
• Answer customer questions via email, social media, and phone
• Make appointments with customers to view furniture and fabric
• Help customers choose fabric and other customizations for their pieces
• Coordinate samples and orders with our fabric vendors
• Keep careful notes in customers' project files
• Help setup showroom displays
• Provide restoration quotes
• Contact customers about their deliveries and other inquiries
• Update inventory, dimensions, prices and other product information
• Keep the store clean and tidy

• Are excited by the pieces in the store
• Are creative and have a basic understanding of colors and design
• Take initiative with customers' needs and follow through on them
• Are comfortable adapting to changing paces and customer needs
• Prefer being part of a close-knit team in a small business setting

While not required, other useful skills include:

• Product photography
• Creating website content
• Managing social media pages
• Artistic, crafting, or repair skills

Quarterly bonuses are provided to the entire team based on overall net sales and completed projects. We offer paid holidays and paid time off. This is a part-time position with work occurring during open store hours (primarily Wed-Sat 11am to 5pm). We will consider a full-time hours for those that have additional skills to fill out the rest of the week's hours.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
