Position: Design Intern – System Design (R&D)

We’re looking for a curious, practical, and detail-oriented Design Intern who wants real industry exposure—drawings, BOMs, manufacturing coordination, and system design learning.

Internship Overview

As a Design Intern – System Design, you will work with our R&D team on real projects related to high-pressure plunger pump systems. This internship is ideal for someone who wants hands-on learning in industrial product design, GA drawings, fabrication basics, and manufacturing-ready documentation.

You will report to the R&D Design Team / Head of R&D and support ongoing engineering work.

Key Responsibilities (Intern-Level)

1) GA & 3D Drawing Support

• Assist in preparing GA drawings and 3D layouts in SolidWorks/AutoCAD
• Support in updating drawings as per internal review / customer requirements

2) Detailed Drawing Assistance

• Help in preparing manufacturing and assembly drawings under guidance
• Learn drawing standards, tolerances, part identification, and revision control

3) BOM & ERP Support

• Assist in BOM preparation, item listing, and documentation support
• Learn how engineering data flows from design to stores, procurement, and production

4) Documentation & Records

• Support in maintaining design records (drawings, PDFs, revisions)
• Assist in preparing or formatting documents like TDS, catalog inputs, basic manuals

5) Cross-Functional Coordination (Learning Exposure)

• Coordinate with production / quality / procurement for clarifications
• Visit shopfloor to understand fabrication, assembly sequence, and part usage

6) Improvement & Learning Projects

• Support small R&D tasks to improve system design, reduce cost, and standardize layouts
• Work on checklists/templates to improve speed and accuracy in drawing release

Skills & Competencies (What We Expect)

• Basic proficiency in SolidWorks + AutoCAD
• Good engineering fundamentals (mechanics, fits, assembly basics)
• Interest in fabrication concepts (frame/skid, welding basics, channels/sections)
• Good discipline for documentation and file management
• Attention to detail (dimensions, revisions, naming, part identification)
• Ability to follow deadlines and take feedback positively

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

• BE/BTech Mechanical Engineering (Final year) OR recent graduate
• Diploma students with strong CAD skills may also be considered (optional line)

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

• Internship/project exposure in manufacturing, pump systems, rotating equipment, automobile, oil & gas, or fabrication
• Basic understanding of BOM / ERP / engineering documentation
