Design Studio Intern — Brooklyn, NY

Location: Brooklyn, NY Position Type: Internship Schedule: Part-time temporary with potential for continuation

Compensation: $18-20

We are a Brooklyn-based design studio seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Studio Intern to support our creative, production, and administrative work. This role is ideal for someone interested in product design, interiors, fabrication, 3D modeling, client-facing work, and the day-to-day operations of a working design studio.

The intern will work closely with the studio team on both creative and logistical tasks, gaining hands-on experience across design development, presentation materials, modeling, production support, and studio administration.

Responsibilities

The intern may assist with:

  • Redesigning and organizing sample packaging
  • Creating and updating tear sheets, product sheets, and presentation materials
  • Preparing 3D-printed sales models and physical presentation tools
  • Assisting with complex 3D modeling for design development and client presentations
  • Supporting client communications and follow-ups
  • Helping manage studio logistics, including samples, materials, vendors, shipping, and general organization
  • Providing general administrative support
  • Assisting with back-end documentation, clarifications, and project coordination
  • Supporting the team with miscellaneous studio needs as they arise

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is:

  • Currently studying or recently graduated in industrial design, interior design, architecture, product design, furniture design, or a related field
  • Comfortable working in 3D modeling software such as Rhino, SketchUp, SolidWorks, Blender, Fusion 360, or similar
  • Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple small tasks at once
  • Comfortable communicating professionally with clients, vendors, and team members
  • Interested in both creative design work and the practical logistics of running a studio
  • Proactive, resourceful, and willing to jump into a wide range of tasks

Experience with 3D printing, model-making, packaging, molding, or product presentation is a plus.
