About The Role

Kuku is redefining how audiences engage with visual storytelling. We are looking for a Design Lead who can blend creativity with the power of AI to craft compelling visuals, set design standards, and drive innovation across our platform. If you’re someone who thrives at the intersection of design, AI, and leadership, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage visual design projects, setting the creative direction and execution standards.
• Curate and evolve design patterns to ensure consistency and scalability across the platform.
• Oversee and guide thumbnail design to maximize engagement and storytelling impact.
• Collaborate closely with marketing and content teams on cross-functional initiatives.
• Define, maintain, and evolve design systems, standards, and accessibility guidelines.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and bring innovative insights into design strategies.
• Leverage AI tools within design workflows, including:
• ChatGPT for ideation and concept generation
• Stable Diffusion & DALL·E for image creation and manipulation
• Midjourney for unique visual concepts
• Mentor and coach junior designers to elevate team capabilities.
  

Required Skills

• Expertise in visual design and design system curation.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
• Strong experience in mentoring and leading design teams.
• In-depth knowledge of design and accessibility standards.
• Current understanding of market trends in design.
• Demonstrated expertise with AI-driven design tools and workflows.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field.
• 6–7 years of professional design experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong portfolio showcasing visual design, thumbnails, and cross-functional projects.
• Proven ability to implement design standards and accessibility practices.
• Experience integrating AI-generated content into design workflows.
  
  

Preferred

• Master’s degree in Design or related field.
• Familiarity with UX/UI design principles.
• Passion for experimenting with emerging AI tools and adopting a hacky, experimental approach.
