Design Manager – Architectural Metal Works

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead our Engineering and Design Department for architectural metal works projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engineering resources, coordinating technical deliverables, supporting production and site execution, and ensuring all design activities are completed accurately and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design and engineering team, including Design Engineers, Draftsmen, and BIM Modelers.
• Review IFC drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents.
• Oversee preparation and approval of shop drawings, fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and installation drawings.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, and BIM teams to resolve design conflicts.
• Manage material submittals, samples, method statements, and approval processes.
• Provide technical support to production and site teams, including RFIs, revisions, and as-built drawings.
• Develop value engineering solutions to optimize cost and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes.
• Drive BIM implementation, design standardization, and process improvements.

Products Experience

Fire-rated doors, acoustic doors, steel doors, stainless steel works, decorative metal works, PVD finishes, copper cladding, corten steel, façades, louvers, balustrades, canopies, access panels, data centre containment systems, and custom metal fabrications.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
• Master's Degree and PMP Certification are advantageous.
• 12–18 years of experience in Architectural Metal Works.
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading Engineering or Design teams in the GCC.

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, Navisworks, Inventor/SolidWorks
• ERP Systems and Microsoft Office
• Sheet metal fabrication, welding, fire-rated systems, and structural coordination
• Knowledge of Saudi Building Code and industry standards
