DESIGN PAINTER

Reports To: Civil Supervisor / Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary

The Design Painter is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and enhancing both interior and exterior surfaces through high-quality painting and decorative finishes. This role combines technical painting expertise with a strong sense of design to ensure that facilities are well-maintained and visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, patching, priming, and repairing drywall or plaster
• Apply paints, stains, varnishes, sealers, and specialized coatings to walls, ceilings, trims, doors, and exterior surfaces
• Execute decorative finishes such as accent walls, faux finishes, textures, murals, and custom color applications
• Perform touch-ups and repainting as part of routine maintenance and renovation projects
• Maintain consistency in color schemes and design standards across all facilities
• Mix and match paints to achieve desired colors and finishes
• Protect furniture, flooring, and fixtures during painting activities
• Inspect surfaces before and after painting to ensure quality standards
• Maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials in good condition
• Adhere to safety, environmental, and organizational policies and procedures

Skills & Competencies

• Good English communication skills
• Proven experience in maintenance painting and surface preparation
• Strong knowledge of paints, coatings, finishes, and application techniques
• High attention to detail and quality
• Ability to perform decorative and design-oriented painting work
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in decorative painting and surface finishing
• Vocational training in painting or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a decorative or design painter
