Position Overview

Strongwood is seeking an experienced, client-focused Interior Design Project Manager to lead projects from pre-construction through completion. This role plays a critical part in guiding clients, coordinating interior design, managing budgets, and ensuring projects are fully prepared for construction success.

You will serve as a key point of contact for clients and a leader within our design team, aligning people, processes, and expectations every step of the way.

What You’ll Do

Client Experience & Leadership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout pre-construction
  • Guide clients through design decisions, scope, and selections
  • Lead and document all client communication and meetings

Pre-Construction & Planning

  • Review drawings for constructability, accuracy, and cost impact
  • Collaborate with design team and consultants to refine plans
  • Align project scope with budget and timeline expectations

Team & Contractor Coordination

  • Lead internal planning meetings and ensure team alignment
  • Coordinate with field staff and trade partners on project strategy
  • Support scheduling, sequencing, and construction readiness

Budgeting & Project Controls

  • Develop and manage project budgets and proposals
  • Issue and track change orders
  • Maintain accurate cost tracking and documentation

Scheduling & Organization

  • Build and maintain project schedules and milestones
  • Ensure all documentation is organized and accessible
  • Coordinate permits, materials, and procurement timelines

Execution Support

  • Collaborate with field teams to ensure design intent is achieved
  • Coordinate materials, finishes, and installation details

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of interior design experience
  • Strong background in client communication, budgeting, and design coordination
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings and managing timelines
  • Proficiency in project management software
  • Highly organized with excellent communication and leadership skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with design teams, field teams, and trade partners
  • Knowledge of materials, finishes, and construction detailing

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 (commensurate with experience)

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
