Position
Mountain Productions is seeking a qualified, ambitious and experienced Structural or Mechanical Designer/Detailer to assist in providing high level detailed drawings and models for our clients. This position will entail utilizing CAD programs such as ACAD 2D, 3D, Fusion 360, Autodesk Recap and Vectorworks. You will design and model structures, assemblies, and components, such as temporary performance stages, audio and video rigging systems, shop fabrication parts, and other design structures as they arise. This position will work in a fast-paced industry. Self-starter and creativity are preferred characteristics.
Responsibilities
· Model and design structures utilizing CAD programs
· Create high level detailed drawings including assembly, installation and fabrication drawings
· Document as-built conditions on installations
· Work alongside engineering and sales team to support project needs
· Occasional travel to sites for support
· Participating in design meetings
· Recommend creative solutions to opportunities
· Ability to multitask various projects at different phases of their lifecycle
· Work with software programs to aid in scheduling and progress of projects
Skills and Qualifications
· Degree in Design/Drafting
· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and other relevant design and drafting software.
· Solid foundation and understanding of design concepts relating to mechanical or structural engineering design, structural fabrication, mechanical assembly, schematics, etc.
· Attention to detail and consistency when developing working assembly and/or fabrication drawing packages
· An ability to individually complete projects starting from preliminary/conceptual design through the completion of the drawings and associated bill of materials while being able to consider deadlines, manufacturability, serviceability, etc.
· Highly collaborative spirit and experience working in a team.
· Problem-solving skills to quickly address issues that arise and keep projects on track.
· Self-motivated and ambitious to the success of the company and themselves.
Travel Requirements
· Occasional travel may be required to support project execution and site evaluations.
