Designer – Hexagon & VISI Systems

Position Title: Designer – Hexagon & VISI Systems (Mould, Die & Toolmaking)

Location: Plant
Experience: 3–7 Years (Mould, Die & Automotive Tooling Preferred)

Purpose of the Role:

To design, develop, inspect, and validate moulds, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and tooling components using Hexagon metrology software and VISI CAD/CAM systems, ensuring dimensional accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with automotive quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design moulds, dies, cores, cavities, inserts, sliders, lifters, cooling layouts, and electrodes using VISI CAD.

Prepare 2D & 3D tool drawings, GD&T, BOM, and assembly layouts.

Design jigs, fixtures, gauges, and inspection fixtures for machining and quality control.

Modify designs based on production feedback, tool trials, and inspection results.

Use Hexagon software (PC-DMIS / Inspire / Metrology Suite) for:

CMM programming

Dimensional inspection of mould, die & tool components

First Article Inspection (FAI)

Generate CAM toolpaths (where applicable) for:

Milling, drilling, EDM preparation

Coordinate with CNC, VMC, EDM & Tool Room teams for manufacturability.

Support tool try-outs, prove-outs, and corrections.

Ensure designs comply with automotive standards, customer drawings & PPAP requirements.

Support root cause analysis for tool failures or dimensional issues.

Maintain design revision control and documentation.

Support new product development (NPD) and ECN/ECR activities.

Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in VISI CAD/CAM (Mould & Die modules).

Hands-on experience with Hexagon CMM software.

Knowledge of GD&T, ISO standards, automotive tolerances.

Understanding of tool steels, heat treatment, surface finish & coatings.

Knowledge of CNC/VMC, EDM, Wire cut processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
