Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive designer to join our showroom team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys the balance of creative design and technical project management. You will work directly with homeowners, builders, and architects to turn functional needs into beautifully designed realities. You’ll take ownership of the entire process—consulting with clients on their style, creating precise 3D renderings, and managing the project through to a successful installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their vision, providing expert design advice and tailored product recommendations that fit their lifestyle.
- Virtual Visualization: Develop precise plans and immersive 3D renderings in ProKitchen, using Oculus VR to provide clients with interactive, true-to-scale walkthroughs.
- Sales Execution: Drive showroom revenue by selling comprehensive packages, including cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, and accessories.
- Project Ownership: Manage the full project lifecycle—from initial concept and quoting through to final installation—ensuring all deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Proactive Outreach: Conduct outbound communication and cold calling to prospective clients, past leads, and local trade professionals to generate new design opportunities.
- Strategic Networking: Build and maintain high-value relationships with architects, builders, and developers to expand the local referral network.
- Active Communication: Maintain clear and consistent contact with clients and contractors throughout the project to ensure expectations are managed and timelines stay on track.
- Internal Collaboration: Partner with management and internal teams to ensure accurate pricing, product availability, and seamless project handoffs.
- Market Awareness: Maintain expert-level knowledge of emerging industry trends and new product releases to offer clients the most modern design options.
- Performance Tracking: Maintain organized project documentation and provide regular updates on sales targets and project status to the leadership team.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure all work aligns with company safety protocols, brand guidelines, and professional standards.
Qualifications:
- Design Background: While 3+ years of experience in kitchen, bath, or closet design is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong eye for design and a passion for the industry.
- Technical Aptitude: Experience with ProKitchen or 2020 Design is a plus. Candidates must be tech-savvy and excited to use Oculus VR as a as a key tool to help clients visualize and finalize their designs.
- Sales & Outreach: A natural comfort with sales and a proactive mindset. You should be comfortable following up on leads and reaching out to potential clients or trade partners to grow your business.
- Travel Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle to visit client homes for site measurements and project consultations.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills are essential for explaining design concepts to clients and coordinating with contractors on-site.
- Project Management: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to keep multiple projects moving forward at the same time.
- Professionalism: A polished, professional presence for the showroom and a positive, collaborative attitude.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required, an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
