Designer - Party/Paper Division

PRODUCT DESIGNER – PAPER PARTY & SEASONAL

Position Summary

We are seeking a creative, trend-driven Product Designer to join our Paper Party division. This role will be responsible for designing and developing gift bags, gift wrap, bows, tissue paper, party goods, seasonal collections, and packaging programs for major retailers. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for color, pattern, typography, and trend forecasting, with the ability to translate consumer insights into commercially successful products.

This position requires a balance of creativity and execution, working closely with Sales, Product Development, and overseas manufacturing partners to bring concepts from ideation through production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design gift bags, gift wrap, bows, tissue, party goods, seasonal décor, and related paper products.
  • Create original artwork, patterns, graphics, typography treatments, and collection concepts.
  • Develop trend-right assortments aligned with retailer strategies and customer demographics.
  • Research market trends, retail competition, fashion, home décor, and consumer insights.
  • Prepare presentation materials, line reviews, and customer-facing design decks.
  • Create production-ready artwork and collaborate with overseas factories on execution.
  • Review strike-offs, proofs, samples, and production submissions to ensure design integrity.
  • Partner with Sales and Product Development teams to support customer meetings and presentations.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain organized design files and artwork archives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Product Design, Packaging Design, Surface Design, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in consumer products, gift, party, stationery, packaging, home décor, seasonal, or related industries.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Excellent understanding of color, pattern, typography, and trend forecasting.
  • Experience preparing artwork for production and manufacturing.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while managing independent design projects.
  • Experience designing for major retailers is a plus.

Preferred Experience

  • Gift packaging, stationery, party goods, seasonal, or home décor products.
  • Private label development for mass retail customers.
  • Collection building and assortment planning.
  • Trend research and forecasting.
  • Experience working with overseas factories and production teams.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,015.07 per year
