Designer & Programmer Position - AutoCam / MasterCam / SolidWorks

Responsibilities:

  • Design and program jobs using AutoCam, MasterCam and/or SolidWorks
  • Read blueprints, engineering drawings and design documentation, including the ability to understand GD&T to design jobs
  • Adjust speeds, feeds, tooling, operating sequences and analyzing G code
  • Utilize continuous improvements methodologies to the manufacturing process
  • Apply advanced knowledge of material cutting as well as the ability to select and recommend tooling
  • Schedule and integrate work with the Engineering, Purchasing, Production and Quality departments to ensure a smooth flow of quality products utilizing a continuous improvement methodology

Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCam, MasterCam and SolidWorks
  • Must have excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation
  • Familiarity and experience with aerospace manufacturing processes a plus
  • Team leadership
  • Critical thinking skills with ability to detect and solve problems
  • Knowledge of JobBoss2 a plus but will train
  • Per Dept. of Defense (DoD) regulations, must be a U.S. citizen

Work Environment:

  • While performing duties for this job, it is required to alternate between standing and sitting. Also perform walking, visual acuity, climbing stairs, ladders, ramps, fine motor manipulation, lifting/carrying, pushing, and pulling.
  • Required to always wear safety shoes and safety glasses when on the shop floor.
  • Possible risk of injury from equipment or sharp parts and may be required to use protective equipment such as gowns and safety goggles.
  • Assignment may require working on loud and potentially dangerous machinery/materials.
  • Required to use computer or touch screen to enter work order data.
  • Must be able to move and lift objects of up to 50 lbs.

  • In-person in Ashford, Connecticut with typical hours 6:30AM to 3:00PM, Monday to Friday
