Job Title: Retail Furniture Sales & Interior Design Associate

Location: Retail Furniture Store, Winter Park, Colorado
Department: Sales / Design
Reports To: Store Manager

Position Summary

The Retail Furniture Sales & Interior Design Associate is responsible for creating exceptional customer experiences by combining expert product knowledge, creative design solutions, and strong sales skills. This role focuses on assisting clients in selecting furniture, décor, and custom design solutions that reflect their lifestyle, taste, and budget while achieving individual and store sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers, assess their needs, and provide personalized furniture and design recommendations.
  • Develop and present design concepts, mood boards, space plans, and product selections using store resources and design software
  • Maintain a deep understanding of product lines, materials, finishes, and customization options.
  • Prepare and deliver professional design proposals and sales quotes.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Achieve or exceed individual and team sales goals through effective client engagement and closing techniques.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, delivery, and installation teams to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
  • Maintain showroom appearance by updating floor displays, vignettes, and accessory presentations.
  • Stay current on design trends, new products, and competitor offerings.
  • Manage order entry, invoicing, and customer records accurately in Quickbooks system.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Fine Arts, or related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in retail furniture sales, interior design, or related customer-facing sales environment.
  • Strong visual design sense and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with design and sales software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, POS/CRM systems).
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 per year
