Desktop Publisher

The Desktop Publisher will be responsible for designing and typesetting books, creating engaging book covers, and producing a variety of print and digital graphics. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills in Adobe InDesign, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating visually appealing, reader-friendly designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Typeset and format books, reports, and long-form documents to professional publishing standards.

• Design posters, flyers, and promotional materials that align with brand identity.

• Prepare print-ready and digital-ready files for publishers, printers, and online distribution platforms.

• Produce and convert layouts into eBook formats, including EPUB and Kindle (MOBI/KPF), ensuring compatibility and readability across devices.

• Collaborate with editors, writers, and project managers to ensure accuracy and consistency. Maintain design templates, style guides, and layout standards across projects.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Desktop Publisher, Graphic Designer, or similar role.

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign (essential).

• Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (preferred).

• Excellent understanding of typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.

• Experience in book typesetting and long-document formatting.

• Ability to balance creativity with precision and attention to detail.

• Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualities:

• Experience working with publishing houses, NGOs, or educational institutions.

• Familiarity with pre-press requirements and print production.

• Creativity in conceptualising new layouts and visual ideas. What We Offer:
