Job Overview:
We currently have an urgent freelance requirement for an Desktop Support Engineer (Level 1) to provide onsite dispatch support. This role involves traveling to client sites as needed to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite dispatch support for Desktop Devices (hardware, software, and connectivity) incidents and follow through to resolution.
- Handle IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) requests and desk-side support services for end users.
- Perform hard and soft break/fix services for laptops and desktops on client sites.
- Provide standard hardware and software support (operating systems and office applications) for Desktop Devices throughout their lifecycle.
- Support and maintain desktop configuration and installation, including patch updates, hardware replacements, and vendor-provided spares.
- Analyse incident data from service desk calls to identify potential user training needs or opportunities for automation.
- Ensure desktops are installed with the correct image per company standards.
- Monitor security profiles and anti-virus compliance on desktops and take action in case of non-compliance.
- Provide VIP and priority desk-side support on-site when no other IT support team is available.
