Optomi, in partnership with a leading organization, is seeking an experienced IT Deskside Support Technician to join their team in Durham, NC!
This role is ideal for a hands-on, customer-focused IT professional who enjoys solving technical issues and supporting end users in a fast-paced environment. The IT Deskside Support Technician will provide both deskside and remote support to ensure a seamless technology experience across the organization.

Experience of the right candidate:

2+ years of IT support or deskside support experience

Strong knowledge of
Windows and macOS
environments

Experience with
Active Directory/Entra ID and Microsoft 365

Experience with
Intune
or other MDM platforms

Familiarity with
PowerShell
or basic automation/scripting

Familiarity with remote support tools and ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)

Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

Experience with imaging, account provisioning, and hardware deployment
-
Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
-
Ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced setting

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft MCP, or similar certifications
Responsibilities of the right candidate:

Provide deskside and remote support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues

Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and security updates

Set up and deploy new user workstations (imaging, account setup, access provisioning)

Manage IT asset inventory and hardware lifecycle (deployment, repair, decommissioning)

Support office technology including printers and video conferencing systems

Escalate complex issues and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams

Document tickets, resolutions, and procedures accurately

Assist with onboarding/offboarding and IT orientation
-
Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards
Working Conditions:

On-site support required in Durham, NC, with occasional travel between office locations

Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 50 lbs
-
Participation in on-call rotation or occasional after-hours support as needed
