Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Detail Manager to oversee our detailing operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills and a passion for maintaining high standards in vehicle appearance. This role involves managing a team, ensuring quality control, and providing exceptional service to our clients. The Detail Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the detailing process, including car wash, cleaning, buffing, and window tinting.
Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Operations: Oversee all aspects of the sublet detail shop, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and quality control to ensure vehicles are detailed to meet Manheim’s standards.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of detail technicians, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work to ensure vehicles meet customer expectations and Manheim’s quality standards for cleanliness, appearance, and readiness for auction.
- Inventory and Supplies Management: Monitor and manage inventory of detailing supplies, chemicals, and equipment, ensuring cost-effective use and timely reordering.
- Customer Interaction: Collaborate with auction staff, dealers, and clients to understand detailing needs, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Performance Metrics: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as turnaround time, quality ratings, and team productivity to optimize operations.
- Client Coordination: Work with clients to ensure seamless integration of services and adherence to contractual agreements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve detailing processes through innovative techniques or equipment.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in automotive detailing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Technology Skills: Familiarity with AS400 software, scheduling tools, and basic Microsoft Office and Google applications.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of professional detailing techniques, products, and equipment, including paint correction, ceramic coating, and interior cleaning.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, delegate tasks, and maintain schedules in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Focus: Commitment to delivering exceptional service and building positive relationships with clients and auction staff.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot operational challenges and implement effective solutions quickly.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and perform hands-on tasks for extended periods; comfortable working in an outdoor or semi-outdoor environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
