$56,378 - $69,334; commensurate with experience
Investigate cases of suspected criminal incidents that occur on university property. Ensure that department and university policies and procedures are followed during criminal or other investigations, and that investigative best practices are adhered to, and that investigations are conducted with the highest level of morality, integrity, and excellence. Must also be able to serve as a police officer qualified to carry firearms; patrol the campus community, testify in court proceedings, maintain accurate records; operate and maintain law enforcement equipment; enforce all state, local, and federal laws; and respond to emergency incidents.
High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required.
Three (3) years of POST-certified law enforcement experience required. Experience in higher education/university law enforcement preferred.
Current Tennessee P.O.S.T. certification required; valid TN driver’s license required.
Interview and Interrogation Training, and Basic Criminal Investigation School preferred. Field Training Officer (FTO) Course, and Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training also preferred.
