Detention Officer

Job Summary
The Correctional Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities. This position involves overseeing the daily activities of inmates, enforcing rules and regulations, and ensuring a safe environment for both staff and inmates. The ideal candidate will possess strong conflict management skills, the ability to handle emergency situations, and a commitment to upholding the law.

Duties

• Monitor inmate behavior and enforce facility rules to maintain order and security.
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility, including monitoring CCTV systems for suspicious activities.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, applying first aid and CPR as necessary.
• Prepare detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and daily activities.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Participate in training sessions related to security protocols, conflict management, and emergency response.
• Maintain effective communication with fellow officers and facility staff to promote a cohesive work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice or related fields is preferred.
• Previous experience in law enforcement, military service, or security roles is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of conflict management techniques and the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
• Proficiency in report writing to document incidents accurately and comprehensively.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional training in emergency response is a plus.
• Ability to work shifts as required by the facility's operational needs.
• Must pass background checks and meet all legal requirements for employment as a Correctional Officer. This position requires individuals who are dedicated to maintaining safety and security while demonstrating professionalism at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $2,800.00 per month
