Detox Center - RN

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and safety, with the ability to work effectively in a new 26 bed Detox/Inpatient facility on Staten Island. The role consists of charting of patients vitals, giving prescribed medications, bed checks, urine testing and blood draws.

The role is not labor intensive and support staff will be with you during the shift. Administration, clinical staff and other support staff will be onsite along with intake staff.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
• Provide education and support to patients regarding health management and recovery processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Uphold infection control protocols to prevent the spread of illness within healthcare settings.

Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in NYS
• BLS Certified
• Experience working in a Substance Use Disorder environments is a plus.
• Familiarity with infection control practices and protocols is essential.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team while demonstrating strong leadership qualities.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with nursing best practices.
