Development and Events Coordinator
The Development and Events Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director. In collaboration with the ED, the Development and Events Coordinator will work to create positive relationships with individual and corporate donors, major funding partners, volunteers, and the community at large. In addition, the position will plan and provide oversight of all fundraising events held at, by and for Mary Lee’s House. Work closely with Mary Lee’s House team members and assist with operations of the building as well as marketing, community activities, and child welfare related activities as they arise. Specific duties currently include:
Development
- Collaborates with Executive Director and Board of Directors to analyze, design and implement successful fundraising events and campaigns
- Collaborates with Executive Director and Board of Directors to analyze, identify and implement areas such as planned giving, endowment gifts, major gifts, and annual giving to meet fundraising goals and to identify prospective donor opportunities
- Ensures timely and accurate processing and acknowledgement of all gifts received, including monetary and in-kind donations through our Client Records Management System-Kindful
- Generate monthly donor reports when needed and updates annual giving plan
Donor Relations
- Develops, implements and manages database procedures and best practices to include developing a donor appreciation plan. Builds and maintains successful relationships with donors and volunteers
- Oversee donor communication and engagement strategies.
- Organize and lead comprehensive tours of the facility for potential donors, strategically scheduled to accommodate various availability, to foster relationships and enhance partnership opportunities.
- Assist with foundation/grant applications and fundraising proposals.
Awareness
- Assists with social media marketing content and Newsletter communications to increase awareness of organization (i.e. create write up of annual fundraiser activities, provide donor update)
- Create presentations and work with videographer to create content to be utilized at fundraisers and related media outlets.
- Lead on annual Partners luncheon including identify speaker, pick a partner of the year, promote the luncheon, work with venue to execute a successful lunch.
Annual Fundraiser
- Organizes, leads and facilitates all major fundraising events
- Create and manage detailed timelines and budgets for all fundraising campaigns and events.
- Develop and oversee related materials to ensure successful execution.
- Reach out to the community to solicit auction items for the annual fundraising event, optimizing donor engagement and contribution.
- Work within budget and track revenue and expenses for annual event.
- Oversee venue selection, catering arrangements, and audiovisual needs for events.
- Lead year-round and post-event follow-up meetings with the Advisory and Event Committee to review outcomes and plan improvements.
- Stay informed on best practices for creating inclusive events and incorporate these practices into planning.
Special Events
- Assist with Fundraising Drives
- Plans and implements all revenue generating events in conjunction with Child Abuse Prevention Month
- Assists Executive Director with any additional meetings, events, and speaking engagements.
- Oversee and coordinate volunteers for fundraising events
- Works closely with Operations Manager and Marketing Coordinator as part of a small team. Assist when needed on design, brand, and content to ensure consistency of optics across all client and supporter touchpoints.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in development and events
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of donor software - Kindful and GoFundMe strongly preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
