Organization Overview: Grace House Akron is dedicated to providing a compassionate environment for individuals with terminal illnesses who are without caregivers and facing housing insecurity. We ensure that individuals spend their final days in comfort, dignity, and with the appropriate care. Our mission is supported through collaboration with partner hospice teams to offer a nurturing atmosphere, meet basic physical needs, and provide emotional and spiritual support.
Position Overview: The Development & Marketing Manager plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Grace House Akron by leading and executing integrated fundraising and marketing efforts. This position is responsible for increasing public awareness, strengthening donor relationships, and effectively communicating the impact of our programs. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, self-motivated professional with the ability to build meaningful relationships that lead to philanthropic support, contribute to revenue goals, and promote long-term sustainability. In addition to development responsibilities, this individual will oversee a range of marketing activities, including content creation, social media management, and the production of digital and print materials.

Responsibilities
Fund Development
- Support the execution of the annual development and stewardship plan and contribute to achieving fundraising goals.
- Coordinate all aspects of the corporate sponsorship program, including solicitation, relationship management, and recognition.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development and Communications on fundraising initiatives, third-party partnerships, and revenue-generating campaigns.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute annual fundraising and community events.
- Secure sponsorships, donations, and in-kind gifts for events.
- Recruit and manage event committees and volunteers.
- Partner closely with event chairs and internal teams to ensure smooth logistics, strong attendance, and revenue success.
- Handle event budgeting, vendor coordination, set-up, and wrap-up.
- Track event outcomes and provide post-event reports.
Marketing & Communications
- Lead the development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns for fundraising, awareness initiatives, and community engagement.
- Create content for newsletters, print materials, flyers, videos, social media, and the website.
- Manage Grace House Akron’s online presence across social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok).
- Oversee website updates, ensuring content is accurate, accessible, and aligned with branding and SEO best practices.
- Design and distribute email campaigns, promotional materials, sponsor packets, and celebration packets.
- Produce the annual report in partnership with the Executive Director and staff.
- Monitor analytics to assess campaign performance and inform future strategy.
- Uphold brand standards and consistency across all communications.
- Represent Grace House on national marketing calls and ensure compliance with relevant marketing standards.
General Duties
- Maintain documentation related to fundraising, marketing, and donor communications.
- Assist with other tasks and initiatives that support the mission of Grace House Akron.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Development and Communications and other team members to integrate development and marketing strategies.
Qualifications

- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree preferred and 3-year minimum experience working in nonprofit fundraising and events, sales, community engagement and/or related field. Demonstrated knowledge of the fundraising process. Marketing and social media experience is a plus.
- Language Skills: Highly articulate with exceptional interpersonal, writing, and editing skills. Ability to motivate support for Grace House Akron programs. Ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with individuals at all levels.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Proficiency in Buffer, Canva and social media platforms: Instagram, LinkedIn & Facebook. Ability to work proficiently in donor database program.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, balancing remote work with in-person duties.
- Must be able to complete a background check and drug screen.
- Covid-19 and Influenza vaccinations required.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
