Development Coordinator (Donor Growth & Stewardship)

Family Promise of Spokane — On-site at our shelter | Full-time | Non-exempt (Hourly)

Our Mission: Equip families and the Spokane community to end the cycle of homelessness—because no child should ever experience homelessness.

The Opportunity

Are you a connector with a powerful network and a builder’s mindset? Are you passionate about ensuring no child experiences homelessness? Then Family Promise of Spokane’s Development Coordinator position may be the opportunity for you.

As Development Coordinator, you’ll grow and steward a portfolio of supporters—especially those with the capacity to make leadership-level commitments and multi-year engagement—so our programs can reach more families with deeper impact. You’ll partner with the development team to open doors, nurture trust, and translate community relationships into sustained, mission-aligned support.

If you’re compassionately competitive, energized by cultivating high-value relationships, thrive in a fast-moving, community-facing role, and are passionate about ensuring no child experiences homelessness, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Do

Acquire & Grow Leadership-Level Donors

  • Proactively source, qualify, and cultivate new major donors and institutional partners (individuals, corporations, foundations, faith and civic groups).
  • Drive a disciplined moves-management process from first meeting to commitment, with timely follow-ups and clear next steps.
  • Collaborate with the development team to align outreach, share warm leads, and coordinate touchpoints; serve as one of the relationship contacts for assigned supporters.

Stewardship that Sustains Commitment

Build personalized stewardship plans—impact briefings, site visits, gratitude moments, and concise updates tied to each supporter’s interests.
  • Craft clear, mission-rich communications that help supporters see their fingerprints on outcomes for families.

Strategic Events & Community Presence

Plan and execute cultivation and appreciation events that spark new introductions and advance one-on-one conversations (some evenings/weekends).
  • Represent Family Promise of Spokane with authenticity, empathy, and professionalism.

Data Discipline & Grants Support

Maintain an accurate, insight-rich CRM: timely entry, portfolio tracking, and pipeline reporting.
  • Assist with grant research, tracking, and reporting; prepare concise updates for leadership and the board.

What Success Looks Like

A growing pipeline of prospective leadership-level donors with documented movement from first conversation to commitment.
  • New leadership-level supporters added each quarter, alongside deepened engagement from existing champions.
  • Consistent conversion from meetings and events into concrete next actions.
  • Supporters who feel known, thanked, and clearly connected to outcomes for families.
  • Clean CRM data that powers targeted, proactive strategy.
