We connect people who care with nonprofit partners who need support and build lasting impact through measured service and community activation.

Job Description

Position Overview

The Development Coordinator keeps the fundraising team organized, responsive, and data-informed. This is an early-career role ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit development, donor relations, and fundraising operations. You’ll support everything from donor stewardship to CRM management to campaign logistics, playing a crucial role in helping us hit our fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities

Donor Support & Stewardship

  • Process donations, generate timely gift acknowledgements, and track donor engagement
  • Assist with donor communications- including thank-you letters, emails, and event follow-ups
  • Maintain accurate donor records in our CRM (Salesforce)
  • Support the planning and execution of donor events, volunteer activations, and stewardship touchpoints

Development Operations

  • Maintain fundraising calendars, dashboards, and campaign trackers
  • Help pull data and prepare reports for internal meetings, funder updates, and board presentations
  • Conduct donor/funder research and maintain prospecting lists
  • Support grant tracking and reporting processes as needed

Campaigns & Communications

  • Assist in executing fundraising campaigns like Giving Tuesday, year-end appeals, and peer-to-peer drives
  • Coordinate logistics for events and initiatives — including invites, RSVPs, materials, and day-of support
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop donor-facing content (emails, social media, impact stories)

Team & Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support to the development team, including scheduling, file management, and vendor coordination
  • Help prepare materials for board and development committee meetings
  • Jump in on special projects — we’re a collaborative team and everyone wears a few hats

Preferred Experience

Ideal Candidate

You’re organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn the ins and outs of nonprofit fundraising. You’re comfortable juggling multiple tasks, communicating professionally with donors, and working behind the scenes to make things run smoothly.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of nonprofit, administrative, or fundraising experience (internships count!)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Familiarity with CRMs (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and stay flexible in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive attitude, willingness to pitch in, and a belief in Hands On Atlanta’s mission

Recruitment Process
