Development Data Analyst Lead

Position Summary
The Development Data Analyst Lead will have regular interaction with all Caritas of Austin departments, community constituents including donors and volunteers, and clients. This position must be able to accurately complete assignments within a given timeline, problem solve and work well under pressure.
The highly motivated, organized, and passionate individual who holds this position will assist with implementation of all fundraising, stewardship, and donor database activities to support Caritas of Austin’s work and mission. This full-time position requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent time management skills, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once. The ideal candidate should enjoy working as part of a team but also be able to take the initiative in all job duties.
The Development Data Analyst Lead will provide support for fundraising and communication activities at Caritas of Austin, including:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (inclusive but not exhaustive):
Database Management
  • Full management of the Development Team’s donor database Raisers Edge NXT to support fundraising, constituent communications, stewardship, and cultivation.
  • Create and implement relevant RE NXT training for staff according to their roles
  • Provides administrative support and/or full management of the Development Team’s additional CRM systems – including, but not limited to Import Omatic, Instrumentl, OneCause, Benevity, and Wealth Engine.
  • Attend CRM trainings, webinars, and stay up to date on CRM updates, changes, trends, and general ongoings.
  • All daily gift and pledge entry and acknowledgement processing ensuring that letters are mailed within 48 hours.
  • Conduct and oversee monthly deposit reconciliation with finance department.
  • Complete monthly Revenue Workbook Report after the close of each month, with support of the Development Manager.
  • Expertise in database queries and reporting including financial reports related to donors and mailing lists for annual appeals, ensuring data is accurate.
  • Maintain accurate constituent records including updating donor information and identifying duplicate constituent records.
  • Create and Maintain all SOPs for database systems.
  • Create and maintain donor lists for Development team use to track trends in donor activity.
  • Vets all CRM opportunities and presents to Development Leadership as needed.
  • Track all donor activities and communication in database including but not limited to mailings and event invitations received and phone and meeting notes.
  • Create and Update email marketing lists and run reports for segmentation to support the Communications team.
  • Create and update Board of Director giving activity in tandem with Chief Development Officer and Development Manager for end of month reporting to Chief Executive Officer.
Data Reporting
  • Create high-level reporting by utilizing segmentation in RE NXT and other CRM systems that enhances the retention, cultivation, and prospect research of Caritas of Austin’s donor base.
  • Translate reporting and data analytics into narratives for Caritas of Austin’s Resource Committee, Board of Directors, Executive and Leadership Teams and the public.
  • Work in tandem with the Chief Development Officer, Deputy Director of Development and the Director of Marketing and Communications to create fiscal year strategy.
  • Provide monthly and/or quarterly updates to the Development Team regarding fundraising and donor trends tracked by legitimate sources such as the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Donor Relations
  • Create thoughtful, engaging acknowledgement letters to appropriately steward donors.
  • Manage in-kind donations including fielding donor calls, communicating program needs, stewardship, and cultivation of in-kind donors, and organizing internal distribution of donated goods.
  • Support the Development Team in implementing the stewardship plan to cultivate and retain donors.
General Development Support
  • Coordinate model update files during direct mailings with the mail house, ensuring more Caritas of Austin data is received in a timely fashion.
  • Create and manage the annual Development Invoice and Collections Calendar.
  • Provide support for registration at Songs of Hope including training volunteers in OneCause and troubleshooting guest issues, serve as point person for event attendee registration.
  • Attend and actively participate in all of Caritas’ special events including Songs of Hope, ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot (held on Thanksgiving Day), and other events as needed.
  • Support the Development team on all other fundraising and communication projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Education
  • Preferred – Associate degree (or a comparable background of training and experience).
  • Preferred – Raisers Edge Certified preferred.
Experience
  • Required – Minimum three years’ experience working in customer relations and donor database management.
  • Preferred – Working knowledge of nonprofit fundraising practices. Experience working on special events and fundraising campaigns a plus. Experience with Blackbaud RENEXT or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent organizational/project management skills with a particular focus on managing details and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with Raisers Edge preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence speaking with diverse populations and representing agency in the community.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all internal donor and client information.
  • Ability to creatively problem solve.
  • Ability to respond with sensitivity and awareness to those with diverse cultural, ethnic, social backgrounds, values, attitudes, and languages.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency and experience (Word and Excel), along with a great eye for detail.
  • Strong technical skills and facility in learning new software.
  • Collaborates well with internal and external stakeholders
Work Environment & Schedule
  • This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek.
  • A remote (work-from-home) schedule may be permitted after the orientation period
    • (6 months), subject to supervisor approval and business needs.
  • The employee is required to attend in-person Development Team meetings, All Staff meetings, and organizational events.
  • The employee may be required to work onsite as needed to support the in-kind donation program, prepare and distribute year-end statements, and assist with special projects.
  • Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required to support Development Department special events and other activities outside of normal business hours.
  • This role requires flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays in support of agency events. All development staff are expected to participate in event activities as part of the organization’s team commitment.
  • The annual ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot, held on Thanksgiving Day, is a key agency event. Staff in this role are expected to support this event as part of their responsibilities.
Salary/Benefits:
  • Base Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000, with final offer based on education and experience.
