Job Description

Location :- Raleigh, NC (Onsite)
Fulltime

Design, build, and maintain scalable platforms: Develop and manage highly available, scalable, and secure platform solutions to meet evolving business needs.

Manage VMware environments: Design, deploy, and optimize virtualized infrastructure using VMware, ensuring efficient resource utilization and high availability.

Automate infrastructure: Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar to automate the deployment and management of cloud infrastructure.

Monitor and optimize performance: Implement monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in real-time.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with software engineers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver cohesive and scalable solutions.

Drive continuous improvement: Lead initiatives around platform efficiency, security, cost management, and scalability.

Implement security best practices: Ensure platform security by implementing best practices for access control, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.

Mentor and guide junior engineers: Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior platform engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Stay current with emerging technologies: Continuously evaluate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies that can enhance platform reliability and performance.

Qualifications

Experience: 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.

Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure, including infrastructure automation.

IaC Expertise: Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.

Containers & Orchestration: Working knowledge with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

Monitoring & Logging: Strong experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, or similar.

Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Powershell for automating infrastructure tasks.

Version Control & CI/CD: Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI), and best practices for continuous delivery.

Security Mindset: Understanding of security best practices for cloud infrastructure, including IAM, encryption, and auditing.

Preferred Skills:

Networking: Strong understanding of networking principles (DNS, VPN, firewalls, etc.).

Database Management: Experience with managing databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MSSQL databases.

Leadership Experience: Prior experience in leading engineering teams or projects.

Soft Skills:
